I went to a wyndham resort with my friend who is an owner for vacation. The
resort is beautiful and has a lot to offer. We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo,
which was very nice. The beginning of the week was awesome it was a great
time with nice weather and plenty of activities to do. Then came the "90 minute"
presentation. Now let me tell you a little about me .. I don't have cable,
satellite, or a home phone. I go to yard sales and thrift stores. I pay all my
bills on time and if I can I do not pay interest.
So
when I went into the presentation I know nothing about timeshares except
avoid them like the plague. WELL these people are good!!! They never say
timeshare. They tell you, you are buying real estate. Yes it will go up in value
they tell us. It is an investment they say.
My
representative was Carlos he chit chats with me making small talk which I
realize later is a way to use my life against me.... I tell him I am a single
mom then later he tells me his sister is a single mom and gives the guilt trip
that we (single parents) need to vacation and spend quality time with our kids.
He puts some numbers together and shows me how I can pay only $82/month for a
weeks vacation anywhere because they use points so you don't have to go to only
one place during a certain week (once again that is why I did not think
timeshare) so I buy into the whole thing. They also give you a credit card so
you can actually reduce that amount because it pays you back. ( 4 hrs later)
So I am
pretty excited about my future vacations until.............
